It appears that those Nick Foles to the Browns rumors were inaccurate.

Remember all of those stories that surfaced somewhere around a week ago about Nick Foles turning down a trade request to join the Cleveland Browns? Well, apparently they weren’t true. According to a report by Philly.com’s E.J. Smith that was later referenced in another story by Philly.com’s Les Bowen, two sources close to the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback denied that any conversation of a potential trade ever happened.

Then, on Tuesday, members of the Philly media caught up with Foles, and he denied the stories himself

Well, that settles that.

After hearing that, it’s hard to imagine where NFL.com’s Michael Silver got his information from. We may never know the answer to that, but here’s what we do know. Foles is still in Philly. That’s where he wants to be, and the Eagles have the best quarterback situation in the entire NFL.

Some talk about being a team player. Some say they understand the situation that they’re in. In the case of Foles, that’s a actually a true statement. Glory or selfishness doesn’t seem to be anywhere in his thought process. Neither is being ‘the guy’.

Nick Foles wants to be happy. He wants to be a part of something special. He wants to be a part of something that feels like family. Being a member of the Eagles makes him happy. It always has. His career started there. Maybe that’s where Foles hopes it ends as well.

Once, he contemplated retirement. Then, a chance to come back and play for the team that drafted him talked him out of it. He’s won there on two separate occasions, and he’s won there for three different head coaches. Now, after winning football’s biggest game, there’s a question we’ve all asked over and over again. What Foles will do next? The only thing is no one really ever seems to ask him.

Honestly, it looks like he’s happy right where he is.
