We can now, officially, add commencement speaker to Philadelphia Eagles running back Corey Clement’s list of accolades. He spoke at Rowan’s 93rd graduation ceremony.

Time flies, especially when you’re having fun. We haven’t stopped celebrating the Philadelphia Eagles‘ Super Bowl victory. Have you? It seems like it was just yesterday when we were reporting on Corey Clement being given an invitation to speak at Rowan University’s 93rd graduation ceremony.

Well, that day finally arrived, and judging by some of the highlights (and the speech itself), things were done in excellence. Take a look for yourself:

Finally, some good news comes after an emotional couple of hours.

Rowan University is in Clement’s hometown of Glassboro, New Jersey. Throughout the 2017 season, members of this proud city and institution watched as one of their own made good on every chance he was given.

Clement, an undrafted free agent, had to beat the odds just to make Philly’s roster. Once he did, he racked up 321 yards on 74 carries and added another 123 yards on ten receptions. He reached the end zone four times as a runner and two times as a receiver during the regular season.

The crowning achievement of an amazing rookie season came in Super Bowl LII, where a second quarter catch and run would eventually set up ‘The Philly Special’.

There, he took the snap and tossed the ball to the man who would pass the ball to Nick Foles, Trey Burton. In addition to that, his amazing touchdown catch in the back of the end zone was forever etched in the minds of Eagles fans.

Seeing him deliver Rowan’s commencement speech is a welcome sight after most of the talk surrounding the Eagles over the last few hours came on the heels of President Donald Trump’s decision to revoke his invitation of a White House visit to the team.

It’s been an emotional couple of hours, to say the least.

The best is yet to come.

For Clement, Derek Barnett and the rest of the Eagles’ 2017 rookie class, the only thing they know about the team’s championship drought and playoff frustration is the things they’ve seen on television. Sure, they’ll experience heartbreak at some point, but for now, it’s smooth sailing in Philly. We, at ITI, would like to congratulate to Mr. Clement on this honor and thank him for getting our minds off of you know what.
