Philadelphia Eagles roundup: Kenny Chesney meets the Lombardi Trophy
During a Saturday night concert at Lincoln Financial Field, country music icon Kenny Chesney hung out with the Philadelphia Eagles and got a little taste of the Lombardi Trophy.
If we learned anything from the 2017 NFL Draft, we were taught ‘The City of Brotherly Love’ knows how to throw a party. Well, we got another lesson in that same theory on Saturday, June 9th. It came when country music legend and icon Kenny Chesney packed Lincoln Financial Field, the home of the Philadelphia Eagles, for a concert to remember.
It may not have all the bells and whistles that AT&T Stadium, aka ‘Jerry’s World’ has. Still, ‘The Linc’ can hold its’ own when hosting non-football events.

During a rendition of ‘Boys of Fall’, Chesney brought Eagles head coach Doug Pederson, their franchise quarterback Carson Wentz, and several other members of the Eagles’ organization on stage.
Eagles chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie and Zach Ertz were also among the invited. Check out some of the highlights:
Hey, when it’s your house, sometimes you have to participate in some of the fun.

It appears that Philly just can’t get enough of seeing the Lombardi Trophy, but that’s to be expected. As Sports Radio 94 WIP-FM’s Cindy Webster stated, Chesney hadn’t played ‘Boys of Fall’ on his tour until his trip to Philly.
For the uninitiated, calling Kenny Chesney a legend or an icon don’t quite do him enough justice, but hey, you have to do the best that you can with the English language and the words you have at your disposal.
Having just turned 50 in March, this talented singer, songwriter and producer has seen 14 of his 20 albums sell 500,000 copies or more. He’s sold 30 million albums worldwide, and 29 of his 40 top-ten singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts have reached number one.

He also has an impressive trophy case of his own as he’s won multiple Academy of Country Music awards. He’s also been nominated for six Grammy Awards. He hasn’t won one yet, but it’s a safe assumption to assume that will one day change.
Then, maybe one day, the Eagles’ organization can invite him back to ‘The Linc’ for another party.
