While everybody’s wondering if Carson Wentz will start the season off or not, the Philadelphia Eagles should keep everything top-secret.

NFL training camp has officially concluded for the Philadelphia Eagles. Now, the Super Bowl champions are dealing with a lighter schedule from here on out. While there is still another three weeks to go before the season opener, everybody is starting to get impatient with the status of some of the Eagles biggest names. The biggest concern naturally being the status of starting quarterback, Carson Wentz.

So far, Wentz’s progression has been flawless. Without any setbacks, the third-year quarterback has been able to take the field with little-to-no issues. Granted, Wentz has been limited for many practice sessions as of late, that still doesn’t change the fact that he has made some fantastic progress over the course of his rehabilitation process.

It was expected that Wentz would miss the preseason, so nobody is losing their minds as he remains benched and out of uniform on Thursday’s. But many fans are becoming concerned as Wentz has yet to participate in 11-on-11’s at practice. And before the Eagles even consider dressing Wentz for week one, they want to make sure he has a full week of preparation doing live scrimmages with the team.

Still on track for week one?

Wentz hasn’t been very shy about his goals this offseason. Ever since he was available to the media in the spring, the Eagles quarterback made it very clear that he has September 6th circled on his calendar as a point for return.

Just as we are starting to become believers in Wentz and his return, a recent press conference has yielded all optimistic thinking regarding his expectations for returning to the field. And while the fans may not like it, the Eagles should continue to act as if his return is becoming more doubtful as the regular season approaches.

Think about it, in a few weeks; the Atlanta Falcons will prepare for the Eagles to open up the season. At this point, they don’t know who to prepare for. The Eagles with Carson Wentz under center, or the Eagles with Nick Foles under center.

We have all seen how much the offense had changed when they transitioned from Wentz to Foles, and that really played in favor of the Eagles Super Bowl run since teams had less game film to prepare with. Now, the Falcons will prepare for week one possibly not knowing what type of offense the Eagles are going to run. The theory may be a little over the top, but trust us, it could definitely play in the Eagles favor when they could really use it to avoid a slow start.
