The Philadelphia Eagles fan base can calm down a little bit. All-pro left tackle Jason Peters says he plans to play when ‘The Birds’ meet the Colts in Week 3.

Week 2 of the 2018 NFL season was an emotionally taxing one for Philadelphia Eagles and their fans. Right after they got torched on another long touchdown scoring strike thrown to DeSean Jackson, this one from Ryan Fitzpatrick. the floodgates opened. Next thing you know Jason Peters was on the sideline.

Let’s talk about that in a second.

Here’s one last look at another nightmare afternoon in Tampa.

Sometimes, it’s hard to look at the Eagles and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium and not think about things like Matt Bryant‘s 62-yard game winner. Then, there’s everything else that comes into play. Just take yesterday.

Eagles fans had to watch their team get their tails kicked by the likes of DeSean Jackson (they’re 1-5 versus ‘D Jax’ since he was booted out of the door by Chip Kelly). Tampa scored on two plays of more than 70 yards for the first time in their team’s history, and Mike Wallace left the game with an ankle injury, an injury that may end his 2018 season.

We haven’t even brought up the fact that Jay Ajayi left the game with some lower back pain. Let’s get back to Jason Peters.

Philly’s future Pro Football Hall of Fame left tackle left the game in the first quarter and missed the entire second half, but he stated he expects to be back when Philly meets the Indianapolis Colts in Week 3

He spoke briefly with the Philly media following the game in Tampa. Here’s a portion of that conversation:

‘A little rest (and) a little stem here and there, and I’ll be ready.’

Hey, he knows his body better than any of the rest of us. Let’s just hope he’s right in his analysis. His backup, Halapoulivaati Vaitai, had another tough afternoon in reserve duty.
