Might Corey Coleman be a name that we hear more as the Philadelphia Eagles search for a wide receiver? Is he even worth the look?

With the news of Carson Wentz‘s return to the Philadelphia Eagles, the ‘Wentz Wagon’ is, again, ready to roll in Philly. There’s just one glaring issue. Who in the you know what is he going to throw the ball to?

Might Corey Coleman be an option? Just about everyone who’s suggesting the Eagles need to add another wide receiver keep bringing his name up. Why is that? We’re glad you’re asked.

Here’s what Coleman brings to Philly’s table.

The free agency pool may be the most convenient way for the Eagles to add another puzzle piece without them having to give up too much. After dipping your toe in that pool for a second, you learn one thing fairly quickly.

There aren’t a ton of fish that you’re seriously looking to reel in.

Dez Bryant is an option. Kenny Britt is another. Former Eagles Jordan Matthews and Jeremy Maclin are, still, others. With that being said, Coleman may actually be the best of the bunch. He was taken just 13 spots behind Carson Wentz in the 2016 NFL Draft.

The pro game hasn’t been overly kind to him however. 19 career games have seen him haul in a grand total of 56 receptions, 718 yards and five touchdowns. All of those numbers came as a member of the Cleveland Browns.

Since then, he was traded to the Buffalo Bills on August 5th of 2018. He was released on September 1st, signed by the New England Patriots on September 11th and, then, released by the Pats on September 17th so that they could make room for Coleman’s former teammate, wide receiver Josh Gordon.

The Eagles have shown interest in Coleman, and the general consensus is, if they take a chance on him, he might be able to resurrect what’s, all of a sudden, become a floundering career.

We’ll have to wait and see what happens.
