Jason Kelce reaches a milestone with Philadelphia Eagles
Just in case you weren’t paying attention, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce reached a milestone on Thursday night.
Once upon a time, well seven years ago, the Philadelphia Eagles took a chance on a smallish center from Cincinnati. His name was Jason Kelce, and ‘The Birds’ made him a sixth-round draft selection, the 191st-overall selection to be exact.
Flash forward, and Kelce is a folk hero of some sorts. He’s also a two-time Pro Bowl selection (2014 and 2016). In 2017, he was a first-team All Pro. He’s also the author of one of the most famous speeches in Philadelphia sports history.
Not bad for a guy many said was undersized and untalented.

What may have gotten lost in Philly’s 34-13 shellacking of the New York Giants was the fact that a little bit of history was made.
The Eagles’ third win of the season also doubled as the 100th game of Kelce’s career, a career in which he’s started in each and every game that he’s appeared in.
He joins some pretty exclusive company as he joins Chuck Bednarik, who played in 169 games, David Alexander, who appeared in 124 games, and Guy Morriss, who appeared in 158, as the only centers who have appeared in more than 100 games for Philly.
That alone should get you guys and girls to tip the cap a little.
Throughout his career, he’s been the subject of some criticism, but 100 games and one spectacular speech later (where he donned an outfit one might see during Philly’s annual Mummers Parade), Kelce has worked his way into the hearts of Eagles fans forever.
Don’t be surprised if Philly places him in the team’s Hall of Fame at some point in the future.
