Philadelphia Eagles debate table: Is Jason Peters’ time winding down?
In the wake of a 34-13 win, the Philadelphia Eagles got some more bad news. Jason Peters has sustained yet another injury. Is his time in Philly winding down?
It’s been said a time or two when referencing NFL football. You either retire or the game retires you. The hope among the Philadelphia Eagles‘ fan base is the latter isn’t occurring for their future Pro Football Hall of Fame left tackle Jason Peters.
On Thursday, Philly’s legend of the offensive line went down with yet another injury. This time, it appears that he’s torn his bicep. Team doctors are remaining optimistic, but as of now, it’s too early to tell what will happen.

#Eagles LT Jason Peters is believed to have suffered a torn bicep, though he told reporters post-game he was OK. I’m told doctors are optimistic that he’ll be able to keep playing, though the MRI is pending.

After seeing Peters go down with a torn ACL and MCL a season ago versus the Washington Redskins, hearts sunk in Philly’s fan base a little, but when ‘Number 71’ announced he’d return for his tenth season in Eagles green, things picked up.
He, along with guys like Carson Wentz and Darren Sproles, were supposed to return and spearhead yet another run towards a second-staright Super Bowl appearance, but so far, it hasn’t quite seemed like that’s what may happen.
Sproles is out. Philly’s struggled on both sides of the ball. They’ve had some surprising issues along the offensive line, and what’s most disconcerting is when Peters has been in, he’s looked confused and, well, old.
Sure, you can blame an tender hamstring for Peters’ issues. Sure Philly’s better with him than they are without him, but for now, the smart thing will be to prepare as though he won’t be in the lineup.
Regardless of what happens going forward, ‘The Bodyguard’ is one of the best players to ever put on an Eagles jersey, but he’s also 36 years old and the NFL is a young man’s game.

We’ll have to wait and see what the prognosis is, but for the first time ever, we may have to think about something else. The sand is flowing through the hourglass, and Peters’ time may be running out in the ‘City of Brotherly Love’.
