Well, after a 34-13 beat down of the New York Giants on Thursday, we’re left with the worst type of Sunday possible, one without a Philadelphia Eagles game. Let’s get into some trade rumors and some injury updates.

Well, here we are. The Philadelphia Eagles are a .500 team after a month and a half. Potential breakout players have been sidelined with season-ending injuries (Mack Hollins). Guys who were on the bubble made the team but haven’t made much of an impact (Shelton Gibson).

Then, there’s the old ‘war of attrition’.

One of Philly’s biggest offseason acquisitions, Mike Wallace, is out for the season. There’s still no sign of Timmy Jernigan. That Darren Sproles farewell tour isn’t going quite the way we had hoped it would.

Sproles is still on the shelf, and recently, it doesn’t even appear as though there’s a ton of conversation about when he’ll be back.

Well, at least Carson Wentz and Alshon Jeffery are back in the lineup. Let’s get into some injury updates and talk about some of the bigger trade rumors.

Let’s start with two of the some of the recent injuries.

1. Jason Peters

Our faith has been rewarded. It appears Jason Peters will return despite his biceps injury and play this season. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport was among the first with the news.

Take a look:

2. Sidney Jones

The news isn’t quite as positive for second-year cornerback Sidney Jones. In Eagles head coach Doug Pederson‘s Friday morning presser, Philly’s head man described Jones as being ‘week-to-week’.

Unfortunately, after an injury that cost him most of his rookie season, an ankle injury that occurred against the Minnesota Vikings and, now, a hamstring injury, the concern is whether or not Jones is a tad fragile and injury prone.

Okay, let’s get to the trade rumors.

1. Le’Veon Bell

Yep, this is still a discussion.

After being told about a week ago that Philly wasn’t in play for Le’Veon Bell‘s services, CBS NFL Insider Jason La Canfora called into 94 WIP-FM’s Marks & Reese Show on Thursday and stated the Pittsburgh Steelers are ‘hoping that Howie Roseman calls back.’

Jay Ajayi being signed to an extension isn’t a foregone conclusion, and Eagles executive vice president of football operations Howie Roseman will pull the trigger on this one if a deal can be worked out that makes sense.

We all should know that about him by now, shouldn’t we?

2. Patrick Peterson

Okay, where did this one come from? According to a story by the aforementioned La Canfora, a rebuilding Arizona Cardinals team may be looking to reshape their roster. That may include their attempt to trade Patrick Peterson by the NFL‘s trade deadline.

With Jalen Mills struggling and Sidney Jones injured, might Philly make a move? Stay tuned as this story may begin to pick up steam.

3. LeSean McCoy

This one’s beginning to quiet down a little. According to multiple sources, including Ian Rapoport, the Buffalo Bills‘ price tag for LeSean McCoy may be more expensive than what Philly’s willing to pay.

The Bills are, apparently, seeking a second-round draft choice or more. McCoy, though talented, is clearly past his prime. Look for the Eagles to explore some other options as a reunion with ‘Shady’ is, now, starting to look like an impossibility.
