DeSean Jackson, WR

Traded from the Buccaneers for a sixth-round pick

Lifelong Eagles fans are quite familiar with this guy, DeSean Jackson. As he started his career with the Eagles back in 2008, Jackson has been one of the NFL’s most dangerous deep threats. You would think because he’s 32-years-old Jackson has lost a step, but the truth is he’s just as fast as he was when he came out of California University.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers wanted to keep Jackson on board, but the veteran wideout had checked himself out since the trade deadline last season. Jackson knows he doesn’t have many years left in the league, so he wants to be in a winning situation. Seeing as though Tampa Bay is unsure of Jameis Winston’s future, and just had to bring in a new Head Coach, Jackson wanted nothing to do with a potential re-build.

The Eagles knew this information and gave Tampa a call. Fortunately, Jackson stated his case to leave many times, and the Buccaneers finally listened. So all it took was a sixth-round draft pick, and Jackson was back home in Philly along with a future seventh-round pick. Honestly, that was a Howie Roseman robbery. The Eagles needed a proven deep threat to stretch the field, and they got the guy who led the league in yards-per-catch last season. His age is a bit concerning, but at least he hasn’t shown any signs of regression yet.
