Rodney McLeod

After spending his first four seasons with the St. Louis (now Los Angeles) Rams, Rodney McLeod signed with Philadelphia in 2016. He started all 16 games in Doug Pederson‘s first year as head coach registering three interceptions, seven pass deflections and 80 combined tackles.

McLeod was the starting safety the next season during the Eagles’ Super Bowl run. He again intercepted three passes with six pass deflections and 50 combined tackles. He made a critical tackle on an attempted hurdle by Brandin Cooks in the Super Bowl, too.

Last season, McLeod suffered a torn MCL in Week 3 and was lost for the rest of the season. His presence was extremely missed, as secondary errors cost the Eagles multiple games and Malcolm Jenkins had to take an even bigger responsibility in the last line of defense. Having McLeod back and healthy this season will be a huge boost to the defense.
