ESPN’s Louis Riddick has some advice of his own for Philadelphia Eagles franchise quarterback, Carson Wentz.
Are you starting to feel it yet? NFL football is back. That means the Philadelphia Eagles are back. That also means quite a few people are discussing the subject of Philly’s franchise quarterback, Carson Wentz.
Why would ESPN leave themselves out of the conversation? Recently, NFL alum and analyst Louis Riddick appeared on an episode of Golic and Wingo, and he had some advice for Wentz.
The message is simple. Don’t try and be Michael Jordan. Instead, be Magic Johnson. Take a look at this one.

‘Mercedes Wentz’ huh? If that one gets out, it’s going to catch fire. Let’s hope everyone stays focused and we don’t get into long, drawn conversations about nicknames. Well, let’s hope it doesn’t happen in the locker room. Everyone’s having a ball with this on social media, ITI included.
Prior to any talk of MVP races or Super Bowl appearances, a few more things are of a bit more importance. One, we need to make sure Wentz is healthy. Second, let’s all just take this one game at a time.
Everything appears to be cool on the first front. No one will need to remind anyone on Philly’s roster about the second theory. Wentz is leaner. He’s healthy. He’s a preseason MVP candidate.
The phrase used to ‘Be like Mike’, but Riddick’s right on this one. If Wentz can channel his inner-Magic Johnson, and doesn’t try to do everything himself, Philly should light up a few scoreboards with their star point guard. Oops. We mean their quarterback.
