It’s time for the Philadelphia Eagles to explore a few trade and free agent targets following Kamu Grugier-Hill’s injury. Here are three prospects in each category.
They’re three of the ugliest letters in the English language when said in succession, especially when you’re an NFL athlete, MCL. After being carted off of the field during a Saturday training camp practice, Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Kamu-Grugier-Hill had a few fans of ‘The Birds’ on social media.
Is he okay? How long will he be out? What’s the alternative if he can’t return?
Some of our fears were confirmed when we learned later in the evening that he had, indeed suffered a Grade 3 MCL sprain. Here’s the report from Mike Garafolo.
#Eagles LB Kamu Grugier-Hill suffered a Grade 3 MCL sprain in practice today, sources say. That’s not the best news but also not the worst for the projected starter who has been impressive of late. He’ll likely miss some regular-season time but should be back relatively early.

Philly, all of a sudden, has some concerns at the second level of the defense. Grugier-Hill’s out for the foreseeable future which will include some regular season games. One of their offseason acquisitions, Zach Brown, hasn’t really shown that spark that many hoped he would. He’s off to a slow start. Then, there’s Nigel Bradham. He hasn’t been seen yet.
During the offseason, Bradham went under the knife to repair ligaments in his toe. His timetable for a return is uncertain. That leaves T.J. Edwards, L.J. Fort, Nathan Gerry, Paul Worrilow, and Alex Singleton on the current preseason roster.
Things aren’t in the category of ‘dire straits’ yet, but the Eagles need to be aggressive in looking around for some insurance. Here are three potential trade targets and three interesting names in free agency.
