10. April 26th of 2008, an era begins in Philly.

Jackson was taken in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft by Philly and was the 49th-overall selection. Six wide receivers were taken before he was, and this was the first time no wide receivers were taken in the first round of any NFL Draft.

We can now definitively state that this worked out pretty well.

9. Jackson becomes the first rookie wide receiver for Andy Reid.

It’s hard to believe now, but once upon a time, Jackson was looking up at Kevin Curtis and Reggie Brown on the depth chart. Both were unable to compete in Philly’s first game of the 2008 season versus what was then the Saint Louis Rams because of injury, so for the first time in Andy Reid’s tenure as head coach, he put a rookie wide receiver on the field to start the game.

Jackson stepped in and racked up over 200 all-purpose yards, a record for rookie wide receivers. That included six catches for 106 yards and eight punt returns for a total of 97 yards. One of which was a 60-yard punt return that led to a field goal. For every Eagles fan watching, this would be a sign of things to come.
