Former Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles injured in Week 1
Former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles leaves the field with a Week 1 shoulder injury and reports state he won’t return.
Well, this isn’t what we expected. The debate about whether the Philadelphia Eagles should keep Carson Wentz or Nick Foles split some of Philly’s fan base but, it ultimately, ended how we figured it would. The Eagles held on to their franchise quarterback and allowed their backup and the only Super Bowl MVP in team history to walk.
Foles landed on his feet in Duval County with the Jacksonville Jaguars, and Wentz was given the reigns and signed an extension which, at the time, gave him the most guaranteed money of any quarterback in NFL history.

The debate was never about talent. It was more about availability. After an inability to complete two straight seasons, many fans felt safer with Foles. Well, Week 1 on the NFL’s 100th season is upon us, and it’s Foles’ health, not Wentz’s that’s been called into question.
After a beautiful touchdown pass, Foles left the field with an injury.
We later learned that it was a broken clavicle and that Foles is out indefinitely. That prevented him from being on the field with his teammates for the remainder of their Week 1 opener and will keep him out for a while.
More updates are sure to follow, but for, now, all we know is Wentz is healthy and Foles isn’t. Now, how’s that for a headline?
The Jags will have to figure out their quarterback situation going forward if Foles won’t be available for the foreseeable future. Hopefully, none of you have Foles on your Fantasy teams.
