If the Eagles continue the upswing that they demonstrated in the second half of their first game, they’ll be a force to be reckoned with. If they don’t, they could fall out of this slot next week. Dallas is right on their heels, and the Eagles travel to face the Atlanta falcons next week while Dallas visits a Redskins team that’s now reeling.

The Cowboys looked good against the Giants. They were more consistent than Philly was and were more fluid, but Philly rested their starters for four weeks in the preseason, and that may explain the slow start that everyone who was watching saw for most of the first half.

Once the rust was knocked off, we got a glimpse of how good this team can be. DeSean Jackson, with a splint on the ring finger of his left hand, looked like he had no issues at all. He was Philly’s leading receiver with eight receptions for 154 yards and two trips to the end zone.

The Eagles erased a 17-point deficit, outscored the ‘Skins 32-10 the rest of the way, and got their first win of the season.

There are things to clean up, but if what we saw was any indication, it’s going to be a big year for ‘The Birds’.
