Here are ten of about twenty storylines as the Philadelphia Eagles matchup with the Detroit Lions approaches.

The NFL is like theatre sometimes. Then again, you could call it reality television if you’ve kept up with Antonio Brown or HBO’s Hard Knocks series. Boy, was that a disappointment by HBO. Even the most casual football fan would probably prefer the former. Just take any good Philadelphia Eagles game as an example.

Super Bowl LII was as good as any movie most of us have ever seen. There were plot twists and unexpected substories that helped us all witness a crescendo to Brandon Graham‘s strip-sack of Tom Brady and a final ‘Hail Mary’ that fell harmlessly to the turf.

We were also treated to a familiar story in 2018, one where our hero, Carson Wentz, fell to injury and his backup, Nick Foles stepped in to save the season.

The first two chapters of 2019’s regular-season campaign have clearly caught our attention. The climax of DeSean Jackson‘s two 50-yard touchdown grabs led us to a change of scenery, the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and a physical affair with the Atlanta Falcons.

Our heroes now face adversity after their first loss of the season, and the drama has led us to uncertainty in chapter three. Life is better than fiction sometimes. How will Philly’s third game turn out? No one knows, but there are about twenty subplots in the Eagles impending matchup with the Detroit Lions. Here are ten. We begin on offense.
