After a very productive day for Zach Ertz, he now trails only Harold Carmichael for the most receptions in the history of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Another week passes, and another game is tacked on the wrong side of the Philadelphia Eagles‘ win-loss total. That will, unfortunately, overshadow a couple of great moments in a game that tested every emotion of anyone who cheers for this team: Malcolm Jenkins‘ effort on that blocked field goal, Nelson Agholor bouncing back with two touchdowns after an ugly fumble, and Zach Ertz climbing in the Eagles’ record books.

That last one was a little easier to miss because he didn’t reach the end zone or make a miraculous reception, but yes ladies and gentlemen, Ertz is now in second place on the Eagles’ all-time receptions list.

He trails only Harold Carmichael.

Four receptions have now moved him into second place on the Eagles all-time receptions list with 454. He passes Eagles legend Pete Retzlaff. It will take some doing and a little time to catch up with the all-time leader, the aforementioned Carmichael, who just celebrated a birthday on September 22nd.

Most of you know what happens next. Fans will panic. The media will attack Carson Wentz for failing to pull this one out. You may even see some blame heaped on several of the guys on the team. Still, we can find a few positives, even in a loss. Throw Mr. consistency, Zach Ertz in that category. He just keeps rolling along as one of the best tight ends in the current NFL.
