All-season long, the Green Bay Packers have been one of the best teams in professional football. Then, they went to Los Angeles, lost their minds for a day or so, and wound up on the wrong side of a 26-11 score versus an inferior L.A. Chargers team.

We all overreacted. The fans criticized them. The media dropped them in their power rankings, but ‘The Pack’ learned from a gross error, and they refocused.

People throw the term ‘Super Bowl contender’ around too loosely. In the case of the Packers, however, it actually applies. They could be playing on the first Sunday in February. The only problem they’ll have is the game will be in Miami. That means there will be more opportunities to be distracted.

Right now, Russell Wilson is the NFL’s MVP. Period. This team can’t win without him, but with him, they can beat anybody. Yes, the San Francisco 49ers should have won that game, but they didn’t.

Pete Carroll continues to be one of the game’s great motivators. There’s all kinds of great talent around Wilson on offense. Jadeveon Clowney, when motivated (and it appears that he is), is a one-man game wrecker.

If the ‘Hawks secure home-field advantage throughout the NFC Playoffs, the rest of the football world has a problem.
