Former Philadelphia Eagles WR Mack Hollins lands in Miami: 2 Thoughts
Former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Mack Hollins signs with the Miami Dolphins.
Ladies and gentlemen, don’t adjust your television sets. This is not a test. There’s no reason to start bombarding the internet with ‘fake news’ hashtags. One day after the Philadelphia Eagles release Mack Hollins, he signs with the team that just went ‘Hulk Smash’ on them.
‘Throwback Mack’, a name that he earned from showing up at Lincoln Financial Field on gamedays in throwback jerseys from some of the Eagles greats, just signed with the Miami Dolphins.
Now, why is this interesting? There are two reasons actually.

1. Philly got nothing out of him.
Here’s a synopsis of Mack Hollins’ football life with the Philadelphia Eagles: one wasted fourth-round draft selection, 28 games with three starts, 21 receptions for 276 yards, and one touchdown. Yep! One touchdown. It’s safe to say Philly won’t be retiring his number.
2. Why does it feel like he’s going to take off now?
Would anyone be surprised if this guy went to Miami and turned into a very good wide receiver? Doesn’t that seem to be the curse that hangs over this team? Haven’t we seen this so many times with so many other former Eagles?
This coaching staff has taken a beating and for good reason, but if Hollins does indeed go to South Beach and work out there, that may turn out to be one of the most damning pieces of evidence against a Doug Pederson assistant coaching staff, Mike Groh and Carson Walch in particular, that we’ve seen. We’ll all be keeping an eye on this one.
