Brandon Brooks, Miles Sanders leave Week 17’s game with injuries
In a game the Philadelphia Eagles absolutely have to win, it appears they’ll have to do it without a healthy Miles Sanders or Brandon Brooks.
It just never seems to end for the Philadelphia Eagles. The ‘injury bug’ for Philly isn’t even a bug anymore. It’s more like a disease. The ‘Birds’ just can’t seem to catch a break as their hopes of a division crown may have to be realized without two of their best players on offense. Miles Sanders and Brandon Brooks both left Week 17’s regular-season finale with injuries.
Sanders limped to the locker room in the second quarter with what appears to be an ankle injury. Brooks joined him not too long afterward with what may be a shoulder injury.

Brooks was carted off shortly after a successful extra point which was preceded by a beautiful touchdown pass from Carson Wentz to Joshua Perkins. For Perkins, it was his first touchdown reception since 2016.
Both Sanders and Brooks are questionable to return, but in the case of both, it’s hard not to look at the bigger picture. With a 10-3 lead at the halftime break, Philly’s in position to win the NFC East, but that’s obviously what is seen in the smaller picture.
The larger frame holds a picture of a more concerning nature. If you’re an Eagles fan, you have to hope that neither injury will prevent either of these talented ‘Birds’ from missing any time in the NFC Playoffs.
As mentioned, however, there’s still work to do. Philly has to get there first.
