54. . . . Ronald Darby. 21. player

When Howie Roseman shockingly traded away wide receiver Jordan Matthews and a third-round pick to the Buffalo Bills for the young cornerback in 2017, the hope was Darby could inject some energy into an Eagles secondary that was a huge problem area for the team at the time.

Well, the secondary is still a huge problem area for the Birds, and that’s an issue that must cease to be one. Things just seem to be getting worse made worse with Darby in the defense’s backend.

For the duration of a one-year deal that paid him an $8.5 million salary, the 2019-2020 season consisted of him being beaten multiple times per game. He made fewer tackles as the season went on, and ultimately Darby just evolved into an easy target for opposing offenses.

Being placed on injured reserve following the Eagles’ Week 16 win over the Dallas Cowboys should be the final nail in the coffin for Darby’s time in Philadelphia.
