You may not watch the game. Honestly, very few people do (or will), but it’s always cool to see which players on the team made the Pro Bowl if you’re a Philadelphia Eagles fan.

This may not be on your list of priorities. but it’s Pro Bowl week! Now, while that term probably has never been used by anyone, it does remind us that there’s some football to watch this weekend if you’re a Philadelphia Eagles fan.

Football’s all-star game gets a ton of flack because its entertainment value pales in comparison to regular-season or playoff football. The NFL has done everything that it can to create interest, like moving it to the weekend in between the conference championship games and the Super Bowl and having former stars serve as captains and pick teams.

Still, the Pro Bowl remains a hard watch for several reasons. Nowadays, if you’re a fan, the highlight is seeing which guys on your favorite team made the squad. In the case of the Eagles, there were five: guard Brandon Brooks, defensive tackle Fletcher Cox, long-snapper Rick Lovato, center Jason Kelce, and tight end Zach Ertz.

As you know, Brooks’ injury makes him unable to participate and the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers qualifying for the Super Bowl means the ten spots they occupied opened up (they have a more important game to prepare for). As a result, Lane Johnson was added (it’s hard to believe that he didn’t make it in the first place). On the Wednesday before the game, Eagles players checked in via social media.

Here are some of the highlights.

For Fletcher Cox, this is his fifth-consecutive Pro Bowl selection. This would have been the third-consecutive trip for Brooks. This is also the third consecutive trip for Ertz and Kelce. For Lovato, it’s his first. As you might imagine, he’s ecstatic.

Here was his heartfelt thank you for the honor and a shot of him getting some work in at practice.

As you might imagine, whether it be a game that counts or one that doesn’t, Eagles fans are always out in full force. They show their team love, and their team gives that love right back.

You know what? Maybe a quick peek at the game on Sunday won’t hurt anything. If you’re interested, kickoff is at 3 P.M. EST.
