Robby Anderson. 9. player. 30. . .

Mentioning Robby Anderson‘s name has been pretty commonplace around the Eagles fan base for a few months. He was a hot topic when the trade deadline was approaching, and now that teams can get another shot at him without having to mortgage the future or give up a player or some draft picks (or both), we’re back where we were during the regular season.

The buzz around one of the NFL’s deep threats is growing again. Unfortunately, there are a couple of knocks on him. One, he’s had some off-the-field problems. Second, he’s sort of a one-trick pony.

Now, in many cases, you can ignore that issue if the pony is very good at that one trick, but in the Eagles’ case, they need to think about someone with a broader skillset.

Stefon Diggs comes to mind. He’s been very vocal about his displeasure with the Minnesota Vikings, but he throws the ‘Birds’ back in the same situation during the most recent trade deadline. They want a guy. Another team owns that guy’s rights, and to land him, Philly’s going to have to give up more than they want to.

Circle Robby Anderson‘s name, but place an asterisk by it as well. He’ll be in everyone’s top ten of available free agents at the wide receiver position, but if you’re a ‘Birds’ fan, there are other options out there who are better fits for what this team is going to try to accomplish on offense. Grade: C
