Some of the things that you love about football fans are also the things that get on your nerves. They love the game, but how can you not? Football fans are attentive and dive headfirst into every conversation about some of the game’s biggest stories, but occasionally, they overreact to things that they’ve just seen.

Case in point, during the most recent College Football Playoff, Justin Jefferson exploded versus the Oklahoma Sooners, and much of the football world, Philadelphia Eagles fans included, went bananas.

In the minds of quite a few ‘Birds’ fans, Jefferson became the can’t-miss guy that Philly fans had to have on the roster. Don’t act like it’s ridiculous. You should have seen some of the social media posts. Let’s get a few things straight though for some of you.

Anytime someone turns into a cheat code versus any real football team, it’s hard to call those moments flukes. Then again, no one’s going to confuse the Sooners defense with being that of the 1985 Chicago Bears either.

Jefferson is a six-foot-three and 192-pound prospect who should be in every pro scout’s top ten of the best wide receivers in this draft class, and for that reason alone, he needs to be on Philly’s draft board. He probably will be on Philly’s draft board, but there are other options available that will be better and Philly should explore those options first if they’re available. Grade: B+
