First off, if the Eagles truly wanted to take the top cornerback from Ohio State in this year’s draft to help one of their top needs, there’s no question that Jeffrey Okudah would be their answer.

But since the only chance Philadelphia has at landing the star cornerback will be to trade up in the first round, the defense should give his teammate in Damon Arnette a look at No. 21.

To say Philadelphia is in need of help at the cornerback position after seeing the results from 2019 would be a huge understatement, and the potential surrounding Arnette makes it seem like the Eagles could land a future No. 1 cornerback with his skill set.

Arnette’s physical style of play in man-to-man coverage is just one of many reasons to support a pick like this for Philadelphia, and when looking at the team’s current situation on defense, a case can be made he would start right away as a rookie.

The Buckeyes have seen numerous former players on defense go on to have successful NFL careers over the years, and while Okudah will rightfully be considered the top cornerback from this year’s draft class, Arnette deserves plenty of praise as well.
