Whether the Eagles want to hear it or not, linebacker always seems to be a position of need in the offseason over the last couple of years, and this will be exactly the case once again for 2020 when looking at the team’s current situation.

To top it off, the position became a bigger need even more recently when Philadelphia made the difficult decision to part ways with Nigel Bradham to free up some salary cap space, putting additional pressure on the defense to fix the need this offseason.

Obviously, the Eagles are expected to explore the best options in free agency as well, but in regards to the draft, if Philadelphia decides to wait until one of the later rounds to explore options, Minnesota’s Kamal Martin could be the guy they’re searching for.

At the moment, Martin is expected to be a Day 3 selection, but if all goes well at the combine along with impressing scouts enough over the next few months, the linebacker could very well see his stock increase.

But for now, until this happens, Martin seems like a solid fifth-round selection for the Eagles, and could be another missing piece to solving their need at the position.
