879. . . . A.J. Terrell. . player

People who only watch highlight reel shows, YouTube clips, and then Bowl Games are going to be split on A.J. Terrell and what his value is. There’s one major reason for that. The best cornerback entering the draft from the Atlantic Coast Conference didn’t look so hot in his final game versus the LSU Tigers, but basing your entire theory about Terrell’s draft stock on that may be a little unfair.

Once we all got to the College Football Playoff and its championship game, LSU’s Tigers were embarrassing everybody, including a team with elite-level NFL talent like the Tigers from Clemson, but here’s something else of note. If you’re going to bring that up, you also have to reference the fact that Terrell had that pick-six on Tua Tagovailoa in 2019’s CFP National Championship Game.

That got the scoring started, and the Alabama Crimson Tide was never able to recover.

Terrell won’t garner any references to being a ballhawk, but he’s completely capable of making big plays on defense at opportune moments. He performed well at the NFL Combine with a 40 time of 4.42 seconds, a 34.5-inch vertical, and a 129-inch broad jump.

He’s six-foot-one and tips the scales at 195 pounds. He also back peddles well, flips his hips, and is physical enough to play bump-and-run coverage or fight the most physical receivers for any 50-50 balls that come his way.
