3 reasons fans should be excited about Eagles interest in Denzel Mims

3. Mims wouldn’t face pressure to be top target right away
Down the road if the Eagles did end up deciding to bring Mims on board, they would obviously hope he would eventually become one of the top targets for Carson Wentz to rely on in the passing game.

But at least for the 2020 season, Mims wouldn’t be feeling the heavy pressure to be the No. 1 or No. 2 option at wideout for Philadelphia since the team currently has DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffery to work with.
Around this time last year, there was plenty of excitement surrounding the return of Jackson for his second stint with the Eagles teaming up with Jeffery to potentially provide Philadelphia with a top duo to work with at wideout.
As fans would unfortunately go on to learn, the two veterans would basically only put together one solid game with one another in Week 1 due to injuries, leaving plenty of concerns for what 2020 will have in store.
Both Jackson and Jeffery happen to be on the roster at the moment, but what kind of impact they will have next season remains a mystery since whether they can remain healthy is going to be a concern.
Hopefully, Jackson and Jeffery progress well enough over the next few months to the point in which they are back to their usual ways in no time.
And if this happens to be the case on top of Mims coming on board, the rookie wideout would be able to ease his way into the offense instead of feeling the pressure to be the top option right away.
