Here’s a look at the roster as it’s currently constructed.

Ten cornerbacks sit on the current roster. The names are as follows: Darius Slay, Sidney Jones, Rasul Douglas, Craig James, Cre’Von LeBlanc, Avonte Maddox, Nickell Robey-Coleman, Tremon Smith, Trevor Williams, and Jalen Mills.

Yes, we’ve all heard the stories about Mills moving to safety to replace Malcolm Jenkins, but he’s still listed as a corner on the team roster. Then, there’s this. We’re not hearing the words “Jalen Mills is our starting safety” regularly from Howie Roseman and Doug Pederson. That’s something you keep getting from fans and some members of the media.

We all know that Philly loves versatility, and having a safety that can cover (though some may say that he doesn’t do so very well) is a luxury the Eagles will, no doubt, enjoy.

Post-draft, Philly added defensive backs Elijah Riley and Prince Smith as well. The expectation is Philly will walk into the 2020 season with six cover guys on the final 53-man roster. On the surface, it feels like Slay, LeBlanc, Maddox, Robey-Coleman, and Mills are locks to make the roster. That means Williams, James, and Smith are out. The sixth corner on the roster leads to our first bold prediction.
