2. The Eagles are dying to get these rookies on the field.

The Lito Sheppard, Sheldon Brown, and Andre Dillard roles on this 2020 Eagles roster are now being played by these young Eagles receivers. Much is expected of Jalen Reagor, and rightfully so. The “Birds” also added John Hightower and Quez Watkins via the draft. They added Khalil Tate and Manasseh Bailey as undrafted free agents after the selection meeting concluded.

It’s uncertain whether or not any of those four young men will even make 2019’s 53-man roster, but if they don’t, they’ll be expected to contribute for years to come, especially now that Philly has decided to move on from River Cracraft, who they thought a lot of and Marken Michel, who the team has invested a lot of time into over the last two years.

Philly’s young receivers are now expected to learn as much as they can from “D-Jax” as well as Alshon Jeffery and Marquise Goodwin. We’ll see if that’s the case.

There’s been no real word on what the Eagles intend to do with Jeffery, but whether he’s with Philadelphia in 2020 or not, we’re all certain that this is his last ride if he sticks around. Goodwin reminds you a lot of Jackson though he’s less accomplished, younger, and less experienced. He’s another speed guy that’s had a hard time staying healthy.

If that’s behind him, Goodwin should make the team. Jackson is definitely in. As is Reagor and maybe Greg Ward. These draft picks have to pay dividends though and regardless of what their role is in 2020, Philly will do all that they can to get these new guys on the field in 2021 (or maybe earlier if there are any injuries).

It’s just going to be hard to do that if the franchise never moves on from Jeffery, Jackson, and Goodwin.
