New York Giants. 4. team. 31. . .

Thursday, October 22nd, 8:20 p.m. EST (Week 7)

Each of the 31 NFL franchises gets an appearance on Thursday Night Football, and for the Eagles, they draw the October 22nd slot, just four days after a home date with Lamar Jackson and all of those weapons, both new and old, of what figures to be another impressive Baltimore Ravens squad.

Philly’s opponent for their Thursday night game is their old foe, the aforementioned New York Giants.

No one’s expecting a ton out of “Big Blue” this season as Pro Football Focus even placed them on a list of five teams that are most likely to pick first in 2021’s version of the NFL Draft.

It’s strange to say that a game versus the Giants would be one that lacks any mystique or mystery, but the “Birds” have taken seven straight versus their old rivals and 11 of the last 12. Nothing we’ve seen over the offseason demonstrates that the trend should change in 2020.

No, you should never count wins and losses before they happen, but let’s be honest. This is a game that the Eagles ought to win.

As any football fan knows, the Giants and “Birds” both play in the same division, but only one of these teams figures to be in the running for a playoff spot late. This one helps or hurts the Eagles more than anything that it could contribute or take away from New York’s season.

For that reason, expect more attention to be paid to the other three games on this list.
