Here’s one the Philadelphia Eagles might like on the Sooners’ roster.

Fingers are crossed all over the Eagles fan base that, by the time the 2021 NFL Draft rolls around, we aren’t again talking about the need to take another wide receiver early, especially after everything that this team has done to improve the position over the past couple of seasons.

More from Inside the Iggles

Brandon Graham may be entering his final season with the “Birds” as both age and price may prevent Philadelphia from keeping him past 2020. There’s no guarantees of how Derek Barnett might have progressed by that point in spite of the fact that, again, everyone’s hoping that 2020 will be a breakout season for him.

Uncertainty with everybody else the Eagles have at the position on the current roster might lead one to believe that the defensive end position will be Philly’s most pressing need come 2021’s draft. If they go with an edge rusher first, maybe a center will be the second-round selection.

That isn’t a guarantee though, nor is it a guarantee that Creed Humphrey will be available if Philly waits until Round 2. The Eagles would be wise to place him on their draft board, but by the time we’re discussing next year’s draft prospects regularly, he might be the second-ranked anchorman on every NFL team’s draft board.
