Philadelphia Eagles wideout Jalen Reagor leaves scrimmage with an injury.

If you’re one of those people that are opposed to hearing anything in the realm of superstition or theory, this next statement may be one that you’ll want to gloss over. Maybe the Philadelphia Eagles‘ home stadium, Lincoln Financial Field, is in need of some sort of exorcism.

Last season, at the team’s lone open practice at what fans affectionately refer to as ‘The Linc’ saw one of the team’s potential young stars on defense suffer a season-ending injury. That was Joe Ostman who tore his ACL. Fast forward to the present and another of Philly’s young stars has ‘Birds’ fans and every member of the Philly media holding their breath on the last Sunday of August. This time, it’s rookie wide receiver and first-round draftee Jalen Reagor.

Let’s get you caught up if you’re a Philadelphia Eagles fan.

Sunday, oddly enough, started out pretty normally. The ‘Birds’ were going to treat their scrimmage at Lincoln Finacial Field like it was any other game day. They drove their own cars. They figured out where to park and where to go. The suited up and took the field and participated in normal warmups before the whistle blew to begin practice.

Then it happened. Jalen Reagor, the team’s first-round selection from 2020’s NFL Draft attempted to make a tackle following a Jalen Hurts interception that was thrown to Will Parks. ’18’ was slow to get up. He walked off under his own power to get checked out by the medical staff. They then took him inside for further evaluations, and at the time of this story being published, ’18’ has yet to return to the playing field.

This isn’t what you want to see if you’re an Eagles fan. As is customary, X-rays will most likely be involved. We expect there to be some sort of answer soon to detail the severity of the injury, but as of right now, no one expects there to be a ton of information that’s made available quickly.

Carson Wentz and Dallas Goedert both sat out of Sunday’s scrimmage as well. It appears that both have undisclosed lower-body injuries, but they appeared to be in great spirits. Update: Shortly after about 3 p.m., reports, like this one from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, began circulating that the belief is this is a shoulder injury. ’18’ has undergone an MRI, and the team doesn’t think that his injury is serious, but naturally, the team wants to be careful. That’s good news if you’re a ‘Birds’ fan.
