Nate Herbig should be a part of the Philadelphia Eagles’ future.

While the offensive line has been the subject of much scrutiny this season, there have been some signs of hope. Nate Herbig and Mailata, are both in that discussion.

Herbig is another in a long line of guards that have played for the Eagles in 2020. While fans have every right to worry about the offensive line as a whole, they won’t have to worry about Herbig as much, especially if a mobile quarterback like Hurts is the guy calling the plays going forward. Herbig is a big man, but he can move his six-foot-four and 334-pound frame pretty well, as evidenced by the above photo.

Herbig isn’t perfect. There are growing pains there. He had a couple of penalties in the win against the Saints, but the pros outweigh the cons. So far in 2020, he’s only allowed two quarterback pressures. No one who has lined up against him has registered a sack. That is very significant.

While those stats may be hard to believe, it’s even harder to believe that the Eagles haven’t lost a game with Herbig in the starting lineup. When Brandon Brooks returns from injury, he and Herbig could potentially bring some much-needed stability back to the interior of the offensive line.

Herbig is one of the latest Eagles undrafted free agent success stories. The next man on this list is one of the others.
