How about we talk about an actual Philadelphia Eagles game?

Tell the truth. You almost forgot the Philadelphia Eagles had a game to play this week, didn’t you? Very rarely will Dallas Cowboys Week arrive with less talk about a game between these two bitter rivals, but discussions about whether or not the Birds are actually interested in moving on from their franchise quarterback will do that.

On the Wednesday leading up to Week 16’s game however, one that represents yet another must-win for Philly, head coach Doug Pederson sat with the media and, guess what? Much of the conversation was actually about Dallas.

The first topic of discussion was injuries, and though all of the news wasn’t good, we did learn that the Birds will get two of their starters back for a huge divisional game versus one of the teams Birds fans hate the most.

Darius Slay and Jalen Reagor will suit up for the Philadelphia Eagles.

So, here’s what we know. Philly’s punter, Cameron Johnston, is still in the NFL’s concussion protocol. Coach says he has a plan in place if Johnston can’t go, but as you’d expect, he didn’t give a ton of detail about what that is.

Josh Sweat‘s wrist injury is more serious than we all hoped, and Coach Pederson says he’ll miss significant time. That might mean we’ve seen him for the last time in the 2020-2021 season, but who knows? We’ll keep our fingers crossed there.

The news gets better though as Coach Pederson also stated that all-star cornerback Darius Slay is out of the concussion protocol, and Jalen Reagor is fine as well. Reagor should practice on Wednesday. Both should be ready to go by the time Week 16’s game kicks off.

Per team reports, Philly also activated a 21-day practice window for DeSean Jackson as well. We’ll have to wait and see if he’s added to the active roster though. No real news has crossed anyone’s table concerning that matter.
