Philadelphia Eagles fans have to watch these clips on Marquise Goodwin

Sometimes, Philadelphia Eagles fans and the fans of every other NFL franchise have a tendency to forget about something. We tend to diminish real people, better known as our favorite football players to Madden rankings on the Electronic Arts game and points on our Fantasy football team. Heading into 2021’s football calendar year, let’s try to remember they’re real people, shall we?

For Marquise Goodwin, it’s been one of those ‘out of sight and out of mind’ scenarios. His Eagles season ended before it even began as he and his wife determined that the danger of the COVID-19 pandemic led them to the decision that, following the birth of their child, the best decision was for Goodwin to sit the 2020-2021 NFL season out.

Who could blame them? For these two extraordinary human beings, the responsibility of being parents outweighed occupation, even one as glamorous as the NFL. Their story has been told often, but if you haven’t had an opportunity to check out the piece done on him by ESPN on E60, you should do so.

How often, as a Birds fan, have you thought about all of those receivers the Philadelphia Eagles added in 2020 and forgot to mention Marquise Goodwin. As said earlier, chalk that up to being out of sight and out of mind, but during 2020’s NFL Draft, Philly didn’t just select Jalen Reagor in Round 1 and both John Hightower and Quez Watkins on Day 3. They also traded for Marquise Goodwin on the draft’s final day.
