852. . . . Round 2: Rashod Bateman, Minnesota. . player

The Philadelphia Eagles satisfy their wide receiver issue in Round 2.

If we were to rank the top wide receiver prospects in the 2021 NFL Draft, the list should look something like this: LSU’s Ja’Marr Chase, DeVonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle from Alabama, Florida’s Kadarius Toney, Terrace Marshall Jr. (also from LSU), and Lousiville’s Tutu Atwell.

We can probably all assume that Chase, Smith, and Waddle, at minimum, are going to be taken in the first round. It can be expected that guys might slide, but former Minnesota Golden Gophers prospect Rashod Bateman is someone that probably could have worked his way into Round 1 had there been an NFL Combine.

There wasn’t, so the theory, as of now, is Bateman is, more than likely, a Round 2 guy. If that holds and Philly was to address another need on the draft’s first night, the logical move is that they address the wide receiver position in Round 2. The best of the bunch from the Big Ten is Rashod Bateman. If he’s available in the second round, as expected, he’s someone Philly definitely wants to think about.
