The Philadelphia Eagles trade back and address the offensive line.

How about some intrigue to get this thing started? There isn’t a scout that we’ve talked to or a mock draft that you’ll find that will place anyone from the Pac-12 in the top ten players taken. There’s a surprise huh?

Heck, you may not even see a Pac-12 prospect taken in the top 15 players taken, so if we’re looking to trade back, this looks like a nice area to trade back then, doesn’t it?

Here’s something to ponder. The 2022 NFL Draft won’t be loaded with quarterbacks, so it might be necessary that any team believing it will have that need over the course of the next two years addresses the position in 2021. Enter the Minnesota Vikings.

It doesn’t take much effort to make an argument for moving on from Kirk Cousins or why the Vikes should seriously consider trading up to get one of these 2021 quarterback prospects. Come on. We all know that Kirk Cousins isn’t the answer, don’t we?

Okay, picture this. It’s one heck of a stretch, but remember we’re dealing with Pac-12 talent only for the Birds. Minnesota, needing a quarterback, swaps first-round picks with Philadelphia. They move up to six. Philly moves back to 14, and in addition to that, the Vikes wager one of their three fourth-round picks in 2021 along with a conditional fourth-rounder in 2022 that could become a third.

The Philadelphia Eagles then strengthen their offensive line at 14 by taking Alijah Vera-Tucker of the USC Trojans. He may be a bit of a reach at 14. He may be someone who goes somewhere between 15 and 20, but he’s, by no means, a bad choice in this spot. This is the best bang-for-buck, first-round, Pac-12 prospect with Penei Sewell being long gone at this point of the selection meeting.
