Philadelphia Eagles, three-round mock draft: Keeping it simple again
By Hunter Doyle
Which prospects will be Philadelphia Eagles come this April?
The first wave of free agency has hit and it’s been quiet for the Philadelphia Eagles. This isn’t much of a surprise since the Birds had to make a plethora of moves just to get under the cap. Not to mention, Philly isn’t exactly the most desirable destination for free agents right now and that’s putting it lightly. As Rob Maaddi reported, an anonymous former Eagle said that the problem (Howie Roseman) is still in the building.
There’s still plenty of time for the Birds to sign some cheap free agents. Money isn’t exactly growing on trees for other teams around the league either. This offseason has been different from a salary cap standpoint due to COVID-19 issues.
While the Birds aren’t done in free agency, most of their work, as far as roster building, will likely still be done in the upcoming selection meeting. Following the Marquise Goodwin trade reversion, this team has 11 total draft picks. Don’t be surprised if the Birds acquire more picks by the time it’s all said and done. Last year, they started with eight total picks and ended up making ten selections.
A little more than one month remains until the 2021 NFL Draft. As this team tries to build itself back to what it was a few years ago, they’ll need to hit on most of their picks this time around. As we all know, Howie Roseman has struggled to do that in years past.
Draft night is always unpredictable but that’s an especially true sentiment for Philadelphia Eagles fans every year. Let’s hope the Birds don’t overthink this year. With that being said, let’s jump into another three-round mock draft and keep it simple just as we did not too long ago.
