How does this affect the current Philadelphia Eagles starter?

It’s doubtful that Jalen Hurts would be phased by Foles’ presence. He knows that he has a job to win this upcoming August and a team to lead this upcoming Fall. One of the positives that Foles would bring is his leadership. He would be a great mentor for Hurts, especially in the film room with his football IQ.

His presence in the locker room could be huge for this very young Eagles team. If Hurts has a bad stretch of games at some point, the fanbase will be calling for Foles to start instead of staying patient with the young quarterback but the Eagles need to trust in Hurts to grow throughout the year. Hurts is going to get back to work and block out the noise. If Hurts completely flops, Foles will eventually get his shot.

At the end of the day, acquiring Foles would depend upon what the Eagles need to give up. Every single pick that the Philadelphia Eagles own this draft is valuable. As we have said before, they need to nail this draft, and giving up a valuable pick for Foles wouldn’t make any sense at this point in his career.

light. Trending. Another Eagles three-round mock draft

If it’s a late-round pick, it might make sense based on the backup quarterback market though. It would also be helpful if Foles could take a pay cut or restructure his deal. If there is one thing general manager Howie Roseman can be trusted on, it’s that he would figure out what to do or not do with Foles contract. Time will tell if number nine will be back in Philly in 2021.
