A former Philadelphia Eagles star and Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee has no concern over what Jalen Hurts should be able to deliver in 2021. During a recent conversation with Chad Johnson, one that was recorded by Draft Kings and later dropped on social media by Bleacher Report betting, a man that has been both loved and hated by both Birds and Dallas Cowboys fans (imagine that) prefers one of his former teams over the other in the NFC East’s race during the coming season.

Yes, it’s been about 11 seasons since Terrell Owens played some NFL football and almost 16 years since he wore an Eagles jersey, but even now, when he speaks, the antennas of Birds fans tune in to the frequency.

He thinks that Philly will be the champions of the NFC East after the 2021-2022 season wraps. He also thinks Mr. Hurts will be one of the major reasons why. Take a look at this:

Don’t confuse some of your feelings for those of the Philadelphia Eagles.

You know the story, but sometimes, some of the best deserve to be mentioned again. The Philadelphia Eagles, despite investing some major coins into Carson Wentz on June 6th of 2019 (a four-year, $128 million contract extension with $107 million guaranteed), drafted Jalen Hurts on April 24th of 2020, not even a year later.

They traded Wentz to the Indianapolis Colts on March 17th of 2021, and with Justin Fields on the board at the tenth-overall selection, when Philly was on the board, they gave Hurts a target (DeVonta Smith) rather than some competition.

Say what you want, but we’ve heard that Eagles Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie wanted his leadership to invest in Hurts and his success. Some of you may be confused about whether the Birds believe in their signal-caller or not, but it doesn’t seem that the franchise shares that same confusion.

At the start of rookie minicamp, the aforementioned Philadelphia Eagles rookie, DeVonta Smith, threw his hat in the ring for Hurts. Now, T.O. has done the same thing. We saw glimpses of this last year, but it appears that nothing has changed in 2021. This team and some of its former stars have Jalen Hurts’ back.
