Steven Nelson shakes up this Philadelphia Eagles roster if you haven’t noticed.
So, how do you feel now after you’ve had a couple of days to digest things? On the final Sunday before the Philadelphia Eagles began training camp, they added Steven Nelson. Some fans and a few members of the media liked the idea. Some didn’t, but these are Birds fans, and these are the journalists that chart their every move that we’re talking about. Everyone has some sort of opinion.
So again, how are you feeling? Are you having a little buyer’s remorse or are you feeling better about Philly’s secondary? Regardless of what side you’re on in that discussion, here’s where we all can agree. Regardless of what your guesses are about what Philly’s 53-man roster might look like, we’re all singing the same tune about something.
Nelson’s addition definitely upgrades the Eagles’ secondary, and this totally changes all of our opinions about what this unit might look like. One man’s addition has put several other prospects who play the position on notice.
One glance at the roster tells us who the favorites are to make this team (Nelson, Darius Slay, and Avonte Maddox). We also know who the longshots are (Josiah Scott, Lavert Hill, Nate Meadors).
We won’t focus on any of those guys. We, instead, focus on the guys who are now on the bubble. They’re fighting for their jobs and holding on by a string. Here are three guys that are on notice now that Philly’s found their other outside starting corner.
