Philadelphia Eagles practice squad tracker in 2021
By Kristen Wong
The Philadelphia Eagles finalized their 53-man roster on Tuesday and have started putting together their 16-man practice squad for the 2021 season.
With new league rules in place, NFL teams’ practice squads are bigger and more pivotal than ever. One such rule allows for game-day promotions for up to two players each week, which means the name of every team’s game is depth.
Philly’s practice squad moves began this afternoon as the team looks to sign or re-sign recently cut players who weren’t claimed by waivers. The Eagles made some waves yesterday after waiving wide receiver Travis Fulgham and running back Jason Huntley, both of whom could end up on the practice squad before the start of the season.
This is a continually edited list of confirmed moves for the Eagles’ 2021 practice squad. Check back for the latest updates on which players made the squad.
Philadelphia Eagles practice squad tracker
Travis Fulgham, wide receiver
After being unclaimed off waivers, wide receiver Travis Fulgham has been re-signed. Fulgham was the Eagles’ leading wideout last year, and his release on cut day shocked many in camp.
John Hightower, wide receiver
Wide receiver John Hightower has been re-signed. Hightower dealt with injuries for most of camp but will gain valuable experience on the practice squad.
Jordan Howard, running back
Running back Jordan Howard has been re-signed. Along with Huntley, Howard will offer much-needed depth to Philly’s RB room.
Raequan Williams, defensive tackle
Defensive tackle Raequan Williams has been re-signed. The second-year undrafted free agent gets a nod for his athletic prowess.
Grayland Arnold, safety
Safety Grayland Arnold has been re-signed.
JaCoby Stevens, linebacker
Linebacker JaCoby Stevens has been re-signed. He was the only 2021 draft pick to get cut, but he’ll be rejoining the team as an important defensive depth piece.
Sua Opeta, offensive guard
Offensive guard Sua Opeta has been re-signed. Opeta played in eight games with the Eagles last season, including two starts.
Kayode Awosika, offensive lineman
Offensive lineman Kayode Awosika has been re-signed. The undrafted tackle out of Buffalo nearly made the 53-man roster after a strong camp and should continue to develop in 2021.
Marvin Wilson, defensive tackle
Defensive tackle Marvin Wilson has been signed. Wilson was waived by the Browns and surprisingly unclaimed off the waiver wire after being one of the most coveted undrafted players earlier this year. Philly ultimately nabbed him, and he’ll provide plenty of value as an interior rusher.
Elijah Riley, safety
Safety Elijah Riley has been re-signed.
Jason Huntley, running back
As many expected, running back Jason Huntley has been re-signed. He adds depth to the Eagles’ RB room, as Philly will currently carry three running backs into the season.
Craig James, cornerback
Cornerback Craig James has been re-signed. He’ll be a good addition to special teams.
Le’Raven Clark, offensive tackle
Offensive tackle Le’Raven Clark has been re-signed. Clark has four years of experience on Indy’s O-line and recently recovered from an ACL tear.
Ross Pierschbacher, offensive lineman
Offensive lineman Ross Pierschbacher has been re-signed.
Michael Jacquet, cornerback
Cornerback Michael Jacquet has been re-signed. Jacquet played in seven games in 2020 with two starts, and he may be most remembered (in infamy) for one particular performance last season.
Matt Leo, defensive end
Defensive end Matt Leo will be kept on the Eagles’ practice squad as an extra 17th member. Leo comes from Australia through NFL’s International Pathway Program.

September 2nd: Eagles agree to terms tight end Nick Eubanks, wide receiver KeeSean Johnson, and defensive end Marvin Wilson to join the practice squad after signing Hassan Ridgeway to the active roster and placing tackle/guard hybrid Jack Driscoll, tight end Tyree Jackson, and cornerback Josiah Scott on Reserve/Injured.
The Philadelphia Eagles also announced that they had released Grayland Arnold from their practice squad. This was after they claimed defensive back Andre Chachere off of waivers.
