Have Philadelphia Eagles fans forgiven Michael Jacquet for Week 16 in 2020?

It’s a good thing that cornerbacks are told to have a short memory because that’s truly a trait that fans don’t have. That statement takes on a deeper meaning if we’re talking about Philadelphia Eagles fans. Philly can be a tough city to play in, and when you’re talking about the NFL’s most demanding fans, pressure can be as big a part of finding a young man’s path as learning the playbook.

The pressure of playing in the City of Brotherly Love has, at times, been too much for guys like Nelson Agholor and Carson Wentz, but that same pressure has also helped fuel guys like Jalen Mills. The Green Goblin could be burned in one moment and wag his finger following an incompletion that he had nothing to do with in the next.

Mills is gone now, but the Birds have a lot of young talent that has spent enough time around him to pick up some of those great traits he had. One of which is Michael Jacquet, a name that, at times, evokes one of the low points of 2020’s Philadelphia Eagles season, a Week 16 drubbing at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys.

Ask some Birds fans, and they’ll tell you that they still have some uncomfortable thoughts that stem from last season. It may not be fair, but it’s factual. Let’s get some of you that may be unfamiliar with Jacquet’s story caught up.
