Philadelphia Eagles offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland

The Eagles didn’t get much out of Chip Kelly’s run as head coach, but there were some surprises, namely Zach Ertz and Lane Johnson. The Nelson Agholor thing is debatable, but here’s something else that we can give him credit for.

He hit the nail on the head by hiring offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland. He joined the Eagles in 2013 as a part of Chip Kelly’s coaching staff and, since then, has survived two coaching changes. He maintained his role during Doug Pederson’s run and was retained yet again when Philly moved on from Doug and hired Nick Sirianni. One thing has remained constant during that time, the injuries.

Every year, the Eagles are forced to juggle bodies along the offensive front, and somehow, the unit keeps on rolling. Stoutland deserves the credit for most of that.

Guys like Halapoulivaati Vaitai, Isaac Seumalo, and Jordan Mailata have developed into solid starters under his watch. Great players have become Hall of Famers and have enjoyed some of their best seasons under his tutelage. You can throw guys like Brandon Brooks, Jason Kelce, and Jason Peters in that category.

There’s been a ton of change over the course of the past decade, but Stoutland has been a nice constant through everything. Grade: A+
