The Philadelphia Eagles have a chance to steady their ship somewhat. They travel to the Motor City in a homecoming of sorts for Darius Slay, who spent seven seasons with the Detroit Lions, and Avonte Maddox, who’s from Detroit.

After two straight agonizing losses, a game versus the winless Lions should be should be a nice opportunity for Philly to get back into the winning column. If they falter, expect the already rampant criticism of Nick Sirianni, Howie Roseman, Jonathan Gannon, and Jalen Hurts to increase exponentially.

Let’s get into some particulars as Week 8’s game approaches.

Eagles Injury Report vs Lions Week 8

Only Miles Sanders (ankle) and Zech McPhearson (hamstring) have been ruled out of Week 8’s game. Lane Johnson, after being unable to finish the game in Week 7, was a full participant at practice on Thursday and Friday, so hopefully, he plays.

JJ Arcega-Whiteside (back) is questionable. Anthony Harris (thumbs/groin) is doubtful. On the Lions side, linebacker Trey Flowers (knee), cornerback Jerry Jacobs (illness), cornerback AJ Parker (neck), running back D’Andre Swift (groin), and running back Jamaal Williams (thigh) are all questionable for Detroit.

Defensive end Da’Shawn Hand was activated from the injured reserve on Saturday. Bookmark our Week 8 inactive reports for updates.

Eagles vs Lions Odds, Spread, Over/Under & Betting Pick Week 8

WynnBET’s Week 8 NFL odds favor the visiting Eagles by three points (-115). This is the first time that the Eagles have been favored in a game all season, but the spread makes a lot of sense.

After scoring 32 points in the season opener and being held to 11 versus the hated Dallas Cowboys, Philly has averaged 23.2 over the past five weeks, and they’ve scored 22 points in the past two games. The Lions, following a 33-points explosion in Week 1, have cooled off offensively.

They’ve averaged 15.8 points over the past six games and haven’t scored more than 19 points during that stretch.

The hometown Lions are at -105. Philly has moneyline odds of -175 versus +155 for the Detroit Lions. The over/under has been set at 47.5 points.
