The trade deadline is behind us. Four games remain in the Philadelphia Eagles‘ regular season. One has to resign himself (or herself) to the notion that the way this team is currently constructed is how it’s going to look for the remainder of the 2021 season.

Now, that isn’t a death sentence. We’ve seen what this team is good at (and what it isn’t). With that being said, if the coaches do their jobs a.k.a. coach the guys you have, recognize their strengths, and put them in the best positions to be successful, the Birds are a squad that can win a few games, surprise people, and find themselves in the postseason as a Wild Card at the end of the regular season.

In the meantime, they can cross their fingers, pray for a little luck, and hope some of their wounded (Jalen Hurts, Jason Kelce, Jordan Howard, Brandon Brooks) can return to the lineup for this stretch run. They could even add someone from the waiver wire,

The Eagles should really think about reacquiring Travis Fulgham right?

According to the Miami Dolphins’ official website, they’ve released Travis Fulgham from their practice squad. Now, while there are concerns about what he may have left if we were to, say, mention possible reacquisition (truth be told, he didn’t look like he had much left the last time we saw him in an Eagles jersey), the Eagles aren’t in any position to turn down players that can help this team win.

As it stands currently, with Quez Watkins now on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, Dallas Goedert and DeVonta Smith are Philadelphia’s lone consistent playmakers in the passing game. We’ve seen Watkins at his best and at his worst during his time in the midnight green; however, we also know that some of his struggles were a result of injuries he sustained and tried to play through.

Now that he’s had significant time to heal, it stands to reason that maybe the Eagles should, at minimum, get him in for a workout. What could it hurt? It worked out in Jorda Howard’s case, right?

Who do you trust more? A healthy Travis Fulgham or John Hightower? What’s the alternative? Continuing to trot JJ Arcega-Whiteside out on the field to block defenders into Jason Kelce’s blindside and make the occasional important catch?

Fulgham isn’t perfect, but he’s better than much of what Philadelphia has. He also knows the playbook. This could be a nice idea for a team that’s looking to make a playoff push. Somehow, however, we fear that the team’s brass may disagree with all of this.
