So, what do the Eagles do now that Russell Wilson is off of the table?

It doesn’t take long for a rumor to pick up steam. Think of the storms you see when any great player is linked with the Philadelphia Eagles, especially if they’re disgruntled.

We turned over every stone as the dots connected the Birds, Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, but in the end, Rodgers stayed in Green Bay with the Packers. A couple of hours later, Russ was traded from the Seattle Seahawks to the Denver Broncos.

Ye, he approved the trade. That’s important to know as he does have the final say thanks to that no-trade clause.

News travels faster than rumors though. Think about it. Some of you were at work when the Rodgers/Wilson news came down, and you were reporting what had happened to your co-workers before ESPN and NFL Network could update the ticker.

We’re hard on quarterbacks, but they have a hard job to do. They’re also hard to find. That’s why Green Bay and the Broncos have given so much to theirs (even though both teams still might not win a Super Bowl), and that’s why we discuss the possibility of them coming to Philly even if the chances are slim.

Now what? That’s the question. Wilson is off of the table. Here’s a quick look at what that means. Here are the best bets for Philadelphia as we approach free agency and the next NFL Draft in terms of what to do about their quarterback position.
