The Eagles strengthen their roster on the offensive side of the ball.

It was clear that the Eagles still needed some offensive punch following the 2018-2019 season. Howie Roseman and his front office make it their business to add some.

893. Scouting Report. Mississippi State. Elgton Jenkins. Pick Analysis. Center. 25. player

Original selection: Andre Dillard

Rather than trade with the Baltimore Ravens to move up to the 21st-overall selection to take offensive tackle Andre Dillard, Philly stays put at 25. They hang on to the 127th and 197th overall picks, and they maintain seven draft choices for the three-day meeting.

With the 25th-overall selection, they take Elgton Jenkins out of Mississippi State. This seems like a reach at the time. Why would they take an interior lineman when they have Jason Kelce, Isaac Seumalo, and Brandon Brooks, right? Let’s ease your mind on that one. Jenkins can play all five positions along the offensive line.

He also made the Pro Football Writers of America’s NFL All-Rookie Team and the 2020 Pro Bowl roster, making him a perfect fit for Jeff Stoutland’s group.

53. 806. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Running back. Penn State. Miles Sanders. player

Original selection: Miles Sanders

Well, we have to give credit when it’s due. Philly nailed this one. Miles ‘Boobie’ Sanders was the choice in 2019, and he’s the choice with this reboot. Sanders, while inconsistent at times, has been a solid starter.

Philadelphia was in dire need of a running back during this draft. David Montgomery, Damien Harris, and Alexander Mattison were all available to them when they were on the clock at 53, but Sanders is the best option for the franchise.

Ole Miss. 57. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Wide Receiver. DK Metcalf. 841

Original selection: JJ Arcega-Whiteside

D.K. Metcalf‘s name is one that still haunts Eagles fans to this day. Here’s the makeup date.

With Eagles fans waiting on the edge of their seats,  Roger Goodell announces the selection, and the selection is D.K. Metcalf. JJ Arcega-Whiteside stays out west. Packing his bags at Stanford and heading to the Seattle Seahawks at 64.
